Ex-Students' Association Mission
The Ex-students’ Association of the College exists to maintain and to deepen the friendships made while students of the College. It is envisaged that once a member of the St Clare’s Community, you will always remain a member. The Association aims also to be career mentors to the Year 12 students, offering work experience and advice. The Association works in close contact with the Poor Clare nuns and the College Executive.
A team of three ex-student debaters challenge the Year 12 to a debate late in the school year to expose the organisation to the students.
To encourage pride in the College and the uniform, an Ambassador Award of money and a certificate is offered on a semester basis to a student from each year group.
A half scholarship for academic tuition for Years 11 and 12 is offered to a Year 10 student on behalf of the Association.
To wish the Year 12 students good luck and best wishes in the upcoming HSC exams, the Association presents every student with a guardian angel pin at their Final Assembly.
With an Annual Reunion on the first Sunday in March for all ex-students, and an organized reunion after one year, five years, ten years and twenty years of leaving the College, we try to just keep in touch with all our ex-students.
Obviously, anyone leaving the College is an ex-student but Life Membership of the Association is offered. This is $125 for lifetime enrolment, charged on the last billing of school fees, and it entitles the recipient to extra advantages*. If you have left the College after ten years and wish to become a Life Member, the cost is $50 and for twenty years after leaving, the cost is only $25.
*There is a key ring offered, as well as the opportunity to receive three newsletters per year posted to your address or emailed. Free advertising of your business on the back page of the newsletter is available and in the future, a fee reduction for your daughter enrolled at the College.
Of course, all ladies can send in pictures and news and updated address details for the newsletter.
